Wedding season is in full swing and here Senior Editor, Carrie Love, talks about the monumental task of creating not just one wedding but six for How to Style Your Perfect Wedding:
It was a rainy morning and our task was to create a Garden Party summer wedding. Only the magic of the photographer’s lighting and the skill of the designer, florists, and stylist could save the day! Miracles were achieved every hour as a white-washed studio in North London was transformed into a vineyard, a rustic barn, a city loft, a lakeside resort, and an opulent country manor house throughout the shoots.
Nautical - be transported to the seaside with this inspired theme. It's all about dark wood, shiny brass, ship wheels, and blue and white stripes of course!
Props were gathered for each wedding set up. Our challenge was to make every shot look utterly gorgeous – while we tried not to break anything we’d hired! Once the table was set up, the image was sent to the art director for approval. When we got the go-ahead it was action stations before the flowers wilted and the fizzy stopped fizzing.
Bright Bohemian - loud, bright and bold, this is an eclectic mix of patterned fabrics and trinkets that bring this wedding theme to life
We were always on a break-neck schedule, then halfway through the pressure was ramped up even further as the deadline was suddenly brought forward by two months. We heard that Barnes and Noble bookstore in America liked the title so much they wanted to put it on their special brides table for 1st January. (Many hopeful grooms pop the question on New Year’s Eve!)
Garden Party - a laid-back garden wedding is hard to beat. Lush greenery, soft colours, and vibrant flowers galore are like a breath of fresh air
What you see in How to Style Your Perfect Wedding is a miraculous creative collaboration and despite our challenges, the end result is beautiful, full of lavish pages that we hope will give the bride and groom-to-be inspiration for their big day.
