Anne Willan, founder of the famed Ecole de la Cuisine La Varenne in Paris is widely recognized on both sides of the Atlantic as a leading authority on cooking.
She was born in Yorkshire and moved to the USA in 1965 after graduating from Cambridge University and studying and teaching cooking in London and Paris. With more than 25 years' varied experience as a food writer and columnist, Anne Willan has a dozen cookery books to her name, including the prize-winning Great Cooks and their Recipes, French Regional Cooking, The Observer French Cookery School, and France Gastronomique.
